Reasons to love Hyaluronic Acid
Healthy skin is hydrated skin. So, any ingredient that helps to keep our skin flush with H20, like Hyaluronic Acid (HA) does, is quite simply a skincare hero. HA is a humectant, it attracts and holds water (reportedly up 1000 times it weight).
HA occurs naturally in our bodies, and importantly in our skin, where it works with other native humectants to keep our skin looking good and working well. Unfortunately the amount we naturally produce decreases as our age increases.
Happily, when we apply HA topically, we get some of the same benefits. It works to keep skin plump, elastic, resilient and looking smooth. It seems to have wound healing properties too.
